NEW MATTRESSES AT THE WILSHIRE GRAND

Feb. 10, 2010

OK, im in a Wilshire Grand hotel right now and I am moving out of my house in the same city. I plan to buy a new mattresss and I love the one Wilshire Grand uses: a S & F (Stearns & Foster), really comfy mattress. a mattress store is right across the street and Im going there today, and id like to know if a Plush Pillowtop is more comfy as innerspring or latex, and what innerspring and latex actually mean. which one is more soft?

GREAT STAY, EXCELLENT SERVICE, GOURMET FOOD

Jul 28, 2009

I was going to become a citizen on July 24th at the Los Angeles Convention center and needed a room to stay the night as I did not want to drive from the Inland Empire to Los Angeles and be late.

My Girlfriend found the Hotel online, and it looked promising. I paid 115.00 for a nice room. When I arrived around 11.00 pm they have very nice underground valet parking and it was free. The greeter for the parking talked to me like he knew me all of my life.

Checking in was the same great service and to my surprise something happened with my room and they upgraded me to an executive sweet at no charge. Wow that was great. The top floor with a great view, this was really cool, you have to use your card in the elevator or else it wont go. Very secure. On the top floor you have your own executive lobby that has complete breakfast in the morning. There is also a place to have meetings in that lobby of course you need the key to get in.

I got to the room at 11.15pm and was extremely hungry I picked up the food menu, and they had a great selection. If you are ever there order the Linguini with a cheesecake for desert. Extremely delicious. I paid 41.00 for my food but it is well worth it. They bring it to your room promptly and it is served on a nice cart. I was very impressed how delicious the food was.

The room is ok, it is a bit outdated but I did not notice that as I was treated like royalty there. Everything was great, they have bath and body works shampoo lotions etc. Really nice touch. Great bed, the ac worked great, overall I will stay there again and or just stop by to eat a linguini plate again
oh yea they also have free internet that worked great. You can also pay checkout thru the television. really cool and saves time.

Nice hotel, even nicer price! Excellent Location in LA!!

Save ReviewJun 23, 2009

My wife and I stayed two nights here with our 16 month old baby. I booked because the internet rate was $79 (in the middle of June by the way), nearly half the price of the nearby Sheraton so the $35 parking fee did not hurt as bad when you think about it. The decor is dated but it's still a classy hotel. Very close to LA Live and Staples Center, and centrally located for you to go sight-seeing in any direction. Valet staff was very friendly in providing tips to save time while driving to the Dodger game. While making my reservation I noted that we prefer a room on a high floor away from the elevators and sure enough they accomodated us with the 12th floor, down a couple hallways.
The only things I could complain about are the small bathroom and the view. Since our daughter still sleeps in our bed a king size would have been perfect but we survived. For the price I paid I cannot complain much. Hotel staff was great as well, free wi-fi too!

BEST HOTEL ever

Apr 28, 2009

This is by far one of the best hotels ever. I've now been to L.A. for the 7th time and highly recommend this hotel. It’s only a few blocks from the staples centre and has a variety of stores that are open 24 hours that are within walking distance. The hotel is also about a 15 minute subway right to Hollywood. And no don't listen to bad rumors that the subway system is dangerous.. lol.. Once you get used to the watching what train is coming your set and plus its so cheap - only $1.00US ($1.30 CDN)..lol.. I haven't seen prices like that I think .. wait.. never..lol...Most of the rooms I've gotten are explempry.and so is the service. The pool, sauna and gym are also the best. I would highly recommend this hotel and I know I'm going to stay there again when I go back...

Amazing Staff, Great Location, Older property

Atlanta

Apr 24, 2009

I stayed at this hotel for two weeks in March for a convention. Because of my duties, I worked with the hotel staff daily. The staff is outstanding. They went out of there way to make the group's stay nice. Our group has a crazy schedule. The hotel extended room service hours and bar hours to accommodate this large group. The hotel is privately owned and has a Korean owner. It's a popular hotel for Delta Airlines and Korean Air flight crews. This hotel can be difficult to review. My roommate and I are big users of trip advisor. The bed was comfortable. Bed Bath and Body Works amenities were included. I understand that the hotel has MANY different room types. We were lucky and had a large room with TWO bathrooms. Bathrooms were smaller, but we each had our own bathroom so we didn't care! Other single travelers seemed to have the smaller rooms. We had free high speed internet in our room. Make sure to ask about your room type. There is a Macy's and Rite Aid nearby and lots of restaurants. I ate dinner in the hotel about 4 times. They have great happy hour food and drink specials in the "tiki" type bar in the lobby. The metro station was across the street also. If you are looking for great customer service, stay here. I did love my stay here.

It was alright

I stayed in this hotel in October 2008I was going to a concert and need a place nearby to stay.

The lobby was very nice and was able to get around easier despite the fact that they were sitcom celebs and exchange students/tourists there. The wall are kind of thin and the bathroom are small but that's ok b/c I didn't stay in the hotel that often. Macy is just up the block and it's across the street from the subway.

Ah, I brought my cute bag from the lobby gift shop; the woman gave me a deal. I was happy.

We had 3 nights here as a stopover to New Zealand. It was booked through an agent so we didn't pick it ourselves. I thought the room we had was plenty big enough, considering we had 3 huge suitcases. The bed was very large too. All the staff we encountered was very friendly and helpful.  All in all, we were only there to sleep and it was comfortable and quiet.
